Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: July 21, 2026

Plain-language summary

We do not store IP addresses with connectivity measurements. Technical measurements are retained for up to 90 days before aggregate use. Optional Google Analytics and Meta Pixel scripts load only after consent. Contact messages are delivered by email and retained only as needed to answer them.

1. Who operates this site

Global Connectivity Index operates globalconnectivityindex.com. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to [email protected] or through the contact form.

2. Connectivity measurements

When you explicitly start a test, we process download and upload throughput, latency, jitter, packet loss, country, device class, connection hint, timezone and consent version. The application does not store the IP address with the measurement. It stores a one-way MD5 hash of the browser user-agent for short-term quality and abuse analysis; this hash is not published.

Raw measurements are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. Country-level aggregates may be kept longer because they do not contain an individual test record.

3. Contact messages

The contact form processes your name, email address, topic and message so we can respond. Messages are delivered to our Plesk-hosted mailbox and may be relayed by Zoner. The form uses reCAPTCHA v3, layered rate limits, a honeypot and a session security token to prevent spam.

4. Essential storage

We use an essential session cookie for security tokens and form protection. A local-storage preference records whether you accepted optional analytics so the site can remember your choice. These are not used to sell personal information.

5. Optional analytics and advertising

Google Analytics and Meta Pixel are disabled by default and load only after you select “Accept analytics”. These providers may process browser and usage information under their own privacy terms. You can change your choice at any time using “Privacy choices” in the footer.

6. Infrastructure providers

Cloudflare provides DNS, security and content delivery and therefore processes normal network request metadata. The website and mailbox run on a Plesk server. Zoner is used as the authenticated outbound SMTP relay. Google provides reCAPTCHA for the contact form.

7. Your choices and rights

You can refuse optional analytics without losing core site functionality. You may request access, correction or deletion of contact information we hold, subject to applicable legal and security obligations. Anonymous aggregate statistics generally cannot be linked back to a person.

8. Changes

Material changes will update the fixed effective date shown at the top of this page. We do not use a dynamically generated date that could imply the policy changed on every visit.
